The red dragon Smaug by eikomakimachi The red dragon Smaug by eikomakimachi
I tried to draw Smaug, the dragon from the book The Hobbit. I tried to make him look more like the european dragons, rather than the chinese, serpent-looking ones. There weren't many descriptions about it, except that he was red and gold, with long body and was able to fly.

The original pic doesn't have background, which was made separatly and added with OpenCanvas help.

This is a pic for Raganui Minamoto, from Gaia Online. He won an charity auction and he requested a dragon pic.

The Hobbit (c) J.R.R. Tolkien.
Media: Red pencil.

Edit(2011): just cleaned the image on Photoshop a little, now that I have a good screen for that (back when I've scanned this my pc screen wasn't very good)

I love the simplicity of this - the way you've just implied grass and scales. :)
